Inspired by Gretchen Rubin’s Rules of Adulthood and after beginning to notice some trends in my own life, I’ve decided to keep a list of My Rules. Perhaps seeing them in writing will help m remember to do things my own way.
Perhaps because I grew up in a poor family or perhaps because I was born in the good ole USA, I’ve always associated owning a lot of things with happiness, wealth, and “the good life.” Nowadays I know that happiness and wealth aren’t synonymous, and “the good life” looks very different than what I imagined as a child.
A “less is more” approach makes for less cleaning, less searching for things, and less buying too many because I don’t know if I have enough. See here and here and basically everywhere else on this blog.
